The Sintyl Family: A Global Mission to Invest in People and Build Communities

Since 2016, the Sintyl family—Williamson Sintyl, Sharla Kjar Sintyl, and their four children, Tevin, Kai, Sidonie, and Selah—have embarked on a remarkable journey dedicated to transforming lives and communities both locally and globally. The family's mission is simple yet profound: to invest in people and build communities. Their story is one of compassion, commitment, and a relentless drive to make the world a better place.

Williamson and Sharla’s global humanitarian journey began shortly after their marriage in Utah in 2016. With a shared vision to serve, they embarked on their first trip to Haiti, Williamson's homeland, where they launched the country's first youth coaching program. This initiative sparked a movement that continues to inspire young people across the Caribbean. At the time, Sharla was a private teacher for a family that shared her love of world travel. Before marriage, she had been a public school teacher and had spent 18 months living in Argentina, where she learned Spanish and served a mission for her church. These early experiences—living abroad, exploring diverse cultures, and engaging in humanitarian work—shaped the Sintyl family's future and fueled their passion for service.

As the family grew, so did their dedication to giving back. They began homeschooling their children while continuing to travel the world and immerse themselves in service. Whether in Utah or their current home in Georgia, the Sintyls have been actively involved in community leadership. They have served on the boards of multiple local organizations and worked tirelessly to strengthen the communities around them. Their involvement includes the Chamber of Commerce, community centers, and nonprofit organizations, where they contribute in various ways to drive positive change.

In Georgia, Williamson leads a flourishing youth coaching program, using his extensive experience and passion for mentorship to guide young people toward success. Sharla is equally dedicated, focusing on homeschooling their children and nurturing their growth through hands-on learning. She also brings women together in their community, creating a support network for homeschooling families and fostering family activities that promote unity.

The Sintyls are not only dedicated to community service but are also entrepreneurs and investors. Together, they have invested in multiple businesses and startups, helping others to grow and succeed. Their ability to connect with people globally is enhanced by their linguistic skills—Williamson speaks many dialects of French, Haitian Creole, and English, while Sharla is fluent in Spanish and speaks Creole proficiently. This shared love of languages allows them to bridge cultural divides and build meaningful connections in their international work.

Despite their busy schedules, the Sintyl family always prioritizes quality time together. They enjoy weekly outdoor activities, with tennis being a family favorite. Williamson, a former professional tennis player, shares his love for the sport with his children, while Sharla brings a creative energy into their home through her musical talents—playing the harp, ukulele, piano, and more.

The Sintyl family’s journey is a testament to their unwavering commitment to service, education, and community building. Their passion for empowering others and their ability to defy the odds have touched lives both near and far, leaving a lasting legacy of investing in people and creating stronger communities for generations to come.
